In 1960 at its debut at the Cannes Film Festival, La dolce Vita won the Palme d’Or and became a benchmark of style and beauty in filmmaking. Now in 2022, with its shapes reminiscent of the glamour of those years, but with a modern design, the new Solaris 40 Open has all the elements to become an icon among 12-meter open motorboats.
Then again, in addition to the marine qualities of the previous versions, which quadrupled sales, with the new Solaris 40 Open, the Aquileia-based shipyard has created a new-generation motoryacht with a space configuration designed for comfortable living time on the boat.
Solaris 40 Open – Deck
The exterior layout, which is the longest in its class, is managed to give a feeling of livability and elegance to those who will tread the deck of this 40 Open. The layout and comfort of the dinette and sundecks aft and forward give the feel typical of 43/44-foot boats. The walkaround layout provides in the central part, in the shadow of a large T-Top, the command station, where the console is asymmetrical to starboard, leaving access below deck to port. This boat is distinguished by elegance as well as practicality. Under the sundecks there are 3 peaks to which in addition to the service peaks in the bow.

The new Solaris 40 Open in the interior aims to reduce noise and vibration. The division of the interior into three areas sees the engine room in the stern, a double cabin in the central area, and the master cabin in the bow. A bathroom with a separate shower is also located below deck.

The elegance of this vessel, which draws on the timeless appeal of the 1960s, sinks into the sophistication of its styling choices. For example, at the stern, the side profile of the swim platform grafts into the hull and grows toward the bow along the entire edge, sleeking its profile.
Marinity remains Solaris Power’s design priority. In fact, the shape of the hull is the first and most important element the shipyard focused on. And that is why, on this occasion as well, there has been renewed cooperation with those whose more than 30 years of experience in the field of offshore F1 has ensured the sailing prowess of Solaris Power over the years. We are talking about designer Brunello Acampora, who with the hull of the 40 signs a further evolutionary step in the Solaris Power range.
Solaris 40 Open – Center Cabin
This hull is designed to have stability both when sailing, thanks to a smooth passage over the wave, and at anchor. It ensures a dry blanket even in rough seas. It was also made with the aim of achieving low fuel consumption and consequently great range and low CO2 emissions. It sails in both displacement and planing and is intended to facilitate maneuvering in port with the versatility of the joystick. Obviously from those who design racing hulls, speed has also been a priority; in fact, the shipyard claims that the new Solaris 40 Open is close to 42 knots.
