Here comes Axopar’s baby, theAxopar 22. After the 28 and the 37, here is the new little fireball. Axopar, a shipyard established just 6 years ago, has been an overwhelming success from the start. During this period, the Axopar team managed to sell 3,000 boats in 70 countries. Record-breaking figures as told in this interview (read it here) by Jan-Erik Viitala, co-founder of the shipyard.
Axopar 22, the debut
“After 37 and 28, – Jan-Erik Viitala – explains we made this 22. It is a challenge because creating a small boat is much more difficult. There are fewer margins for error, there are fewer spaces, and the boat still has to be livable and modular as much as possible according to the users of the world.” So the yard’s focus has been to create a versatile, modular and “entry-level” boat for a younger clientele, price-wise. A site-ready model with a 115-horsepower Mercury engine and including VAT (at 19 percent) has a site price of about 49,000 €. The basic hull is priced at €25,900.Check out the base price and all the options here

Following the project was Jarkko Jämsén, designer who curated the exterior of the Motor Yacht Pi, the best motor boat of 2020.Jarkko Jämsén’s design studio was among the first in the world to use augmented reality as a tool for design development as well as CFD, as told during the Axopar 22 presentation.
The new Axopar 22 as a first boat
The Axopar 22 was thus created to bring as many people as possible closer to boating, increasing Axopar’s reach to engage as many boaters as possible with a fast, fun and safe boat. Basically a boat for newbies that can give that extra something from an adrenaline standpoint.
Small, but also designed for challenging conditions with an extremely elaborate hull. Jarkko Jämsén explained how the broadside toward the bow curves outward to keep water or splashes from rising even in heavy seas. The fairing, in keeping with Axopar’s philosophy, is two-step. The stern, on the other hand, is completely flat for maximum stability.
“It’s the most complicated hull we’ve ever made to garaantime safety, comfort and handling. A stable boat for all conditions.
Whether it is a boat for everyday sailing in the Arctic, a boat for diving excursions in the Mediterranean, or a fishing boat in northern British Columbia, the design and production philosophy of “one world, one boat.” A versatile boat suitable for many uses!
