The miniature sport cruiser motor boat. The Windy Huracan 29 seems like the perfect vessel as a first boat for those who want a compact, fast and easy to handle hull. We preview it in anticipation of coming on board at its upcoming debut in early 2024.
The Düsseldorf Boat Show 2024 (Jan. 20-28) is getting closer. This show has the distinction of hosting novelties of all sizes and backgrounds. Among the most interesting is definitely the Windy Huracán 29, the small sports car that sees the collaboration between the Scandinavian shipyard and Espen Øino, the superyacht designer, continue.
First, let’s focus on the deck plan of this 9-meter boat (8.91 m to be precise). In such a small space, the shipyard and designer wanted to bring everything that people who go out to sea for a day or weekend are looking for.
3 interesting features about this weekender
A boat as 8.9 meters long and 2.7 meters wide as this one cannot have too much “space” for walking, especially since the layout takes up the entire beam. At the same time, the decision to have a sundeck and cockpit with a central table led to placing the galley below deck. A solution that not everyone appreciates, but one that allows for more surface area above.
In the bow is a cabin that from the renderings looks really quite voluminous with a double bed despite the fact that the boat maintains a sporty feel. There is also room, then, for a separate bathroom that also appears to be quite large.
There are no flashy outboard motors at the stern,
such as those with 400 and more horsepower
, but there is a choice of Volvo Penta or Yanmar inboard engines. Both solutions, together with Windy’s deep-V hull, promise good sea keeping and speed. It will debut at the Boot Düsseldorf 2024 boat show.
